Talk: Working with Git

Abstract

The talk gives an introduction to Git, one of the most popular version control systems. It is suitable for beginners, but basic knowledge about data structures (pointers and linked list) is recommended.

The presentation is split into two parts:

  • Part one deals with the basics and introduces important concepts and commands. Additionally, some internals are explained to provide a better understanding.
  • Part two explains how the basics of the first part can be adopted for an efficient workflow. It covers topics like Gitflow, Gerrit and working with Gitolite and Github.

The whole talk is given in German language. Therefore, the supporting materials (slides and handout) are also written in German.
